The Hague 125g Electric Yarn Winder is the current version of the very popular original PDB 125g Electric Yarn Winder. It was first developed in 1981 and since that date 1000's have been sold in the UK and around the world. The winder simply fastens to the knitting table and the yarn is fed from the tension mast of your Knitting Machine to the winder (alternatively a separate Tension Mast (PDB8) is available as an optional extra).

The winder will wind up to 125 grams, depending on the type of yarn used, and a spare Bobbin is also supplied with the unit. There is no auto switch off, so you will have to switch the yarn winder off once the bobbin is full. The winder will be supplied so it is the correct voltage for the country it is being sent to, though you may have to fit a suitable local plug in some countries.

With all electric twisters and winders the internal drive belt is a constantly moving part, similar to a tyre on a car, and therefore we would always recommend buying a spare pack of drive belts to have available should the belt ever need replacing. The winder is also designed for domestic use, not industrial use.

OK, but not what I was hoping for

The unit has a clip to the table that is EXACTLY 1 1/2 inches in depth, which many tables are this width, so it doesn't fit. I had to go out and find something to use for it. I finally found a heavy dinning chair that could work without having to buy a whole new table! Using it, it kinda knocks uneven like it is off-balance a little when starting the process. So it makes a weird knocking sound and appears to be off. I'll know more when I fully use a skein to see if it effects the wind. Also, it is fairly hard to get it to start and catch the end of the yarn. The slot that is supposed to hold yarn does it rather poorly so it can take a number of tries for it to wind enough to catch it properly. The unit works, but not nearly as well as i would have hoped it would. Disappointing. But it does work. I also bought the tension mast. It doesn't work well for me. I tried a number of times, but the tension makes it VERY hard for the winder. I tried and tried to loosen but I gave up. Seems I don't even need it once I tried without.

It's not heavy, but quite stabile when you put in on the table. Tiedto winfd thin and thick yarn. I am satisfied with the result.
